Licence Conditions

My Net Worth Limited holds a Class 2 FAP licence. There are no conditions on our licence that limit or restrict the financial advice we are able to give, other than those outlined in the scope of advice section below.

2. Nature & Scope of Our Advice

We provide personalised, written financial advice to retail clients. Our advice is designed to address your personal needs, concerns and financial objectives across the following areas.

Areas of Financial Advice

  • Comprehensive financial planning — full analysis of your situation aligned with your financial objectives
  • Financial management — consolidated wealth position, personal financial benchmarking, cash flow planning, emergency fund planning and spending goals
  • Investment planning — risk profiling, asset management strategy, asset characteristics and product recommendations — including KiwiSaver investments
  • Risk and insurance planning — needs analysis calculations, cover characteristics and product recommendations
  • Retirement planning — analysing the likelihood of meeting your target retirement goals and modelling retirement cash flows
  • Estate, gift & wealth transfer planning — assessing your estate net worth and liquidity, and working with relevant stakeholders

Once we have talked to you and found out what you need, we will make sure that the right person works with you to provide the appropriate type of advice — not all of our advisers cover the same areas.

Referral Areas (Outside Our Direct Scope)

The following areas are outside our direct scope of advice. Where relevant, we may identify considerations and refer you to an appropriate specialist.

  • Mortgage & debt structuring — we conduct a mortgage assessment based on your needs, but do not provide specific product or lender recommendations. We may refer you to a specialist mortgage broker.
  • Insurance product selection — where a needs analysis identifies cover we don't directly advise on, we may refer you to a specialist insurance broker.
  • Taxation, legal & accounting — we do not provide specific tax, legal or accounting advice, but may identify issues requiring specialist input and can work alongside your existing advisers.

Product Providers

We prefer to be product agnostic when it comes to KiwiSaver and Managed Fund providers, and are in the process of establishing agencies with multiple providers. This list may change from time to time.

3. Fees & Expenses

All fees will be fully disclosed to you before any advice is provided or any engagement proceeds. We will confirm the exact fees applicable to your personal situation in a written engagement document. Our first (discovery) meeting is always free of charge.

Private Wealth

Best suited for clients with investible funds greater than NZ$1m.

2.00% per annum (scaled down) + GST where applicable
Tiered down as portfolio size increases. Based on a NZ$1m portfolio.

The fee covers your dedicated Certified Financial PlannerCM, Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) service — independent investment committee, portfolio construction, professional management and rebalancing, regular reporting, and independent custody — plus access to everything in our Legacy planning package, as needed.

LiftOff

Best suited for clients with investible funds less than NZ$1m.

0.50% per annum (flat) + GST on investible Assets Under Advice

Covers (as needed): free Basic planning package, risk-profile assessment for your lifestage, timeframe and goals, personalised assessment of KiwiSaver and/or Managed Fund investments and recommendations, personalised needs analysis for insurance cover and product appropriateness, net-worth tracker and goal modelling in your Client Portal, and on-going advisory with qualified adviser check-ins (annually or at your request).

Where possible we prefer not to receive commission from product providers. However, where a product provider makes a payment to us to serve you, that payment will offset the advice fee charged to you — so you do not pay more than the stated fee. You will also be charged investment management fees by providers; once a suitable solution is identified these will be disclosed and discussed with you.

Planning Packages

LiftOff clients may engage us for financial planning services at an additional cost, which may be offset if you choose to work with us on-going.

  • Basic — $999 incl. GST (one-off) — Free for all on-going LiftOff clients. Risk-profile suitability assessment, KiwiSaver and/or Managed Fund review with recommendations, insurance needs analysis & product appropriateness, net-worth tracker & goal modelling, annual adviser check-in.
  • Plus — $2,499 incl. GST (one-off) — Everything in Basic, plus cashflow, savings and critical personal financial ratios, property-asset assessment and efficiency as an investment, introduction to taxation considerations, introduction to estate planning.
  • Legacy — $9,999 incl. GST (one-off) — Everything in Plus, for each multi-generational family group (up to 5 members). Additional groups + $1,500 incl. GST. Includes succession & multi-generational inheritance planning, confidential conversations at each family level.

Full fee disclosure will be provided to you in writing before any engagement proceeds. Fees are always agreed with you in advance — we will never charge a fee without your prior written agreement.

4. Conflicts of Interest & Incentives

Ownership & Remuneration

My Net Worth Limited utilises the proprietary technology of Wealthie Limited to enable a superior client experience and outcomes. Both My Net Worth and Wealthie are 100% owned by the parent company, RPRC Holdings Limited, of which our advisers are shareholders and directors.

Commissions & Product-Provider Payments

My Net Worth holds agencies with certain product providers. Our advice is based solely on what is suitable for your needs. In some circumstances a product provider may make a payment to us for servicing you; where this occurs, that payment will offset your advice fee — you will not pay more than the stated fee as a result. The specific details of any such arrangement will be disclosed to you before you proceed.

Non-Monetary Benefits

Occasionally, we or our advisers may receive non-monetary benefits from product providers. These may include minor office supplies (e.g. pens, drink bottles), entertainment (e.g. sports or concert tickets, golf days) or subsidised professional development (e.g. training courses or events hosted by providers). All such benefits are recorded on our internal register. We do not consider these to materially influence our advice, but we disclose them in the interests of full transparency.

How We Manage Conflicts

We manage conflicts of interest by ensuring our advice process is focused on your needs and objectives. Where a conflict cannot be avoided, we will disclose it to you and explain how we are managing it. You can request further information about any conflict at any time.
